Question
Can I use an external signal to release the brake of a U-series AC
Servomotor equipped with a brake?
Answer
We recommend using the brake interlock signal.
Open the connector case on the Servo side of the cable and add the brake
interlock signal there.
Often, a Programmable Controller output is used as a brake signal, but
because it is difficult to time the signal accurately, this method may
cause falling on a vertical axis and excessive brake wear, due to the
brake being applied when the motor cannot be stopped or the brake being
released before the servo lock can be applied.
