Frequently Asked Questions

Sensor Controller Topic: Connection from Sensors for Voltage Output

FAQ No. FAQ03408

Question

Can a Sensor with a voltage output be connected to the S3D2 Sensor Controller?

Answer

A Sensor with a voltage output that is able to switch an NPN output lead current of 18 mA or more for the S3D2 Sensor Controller can be connected. Older Sensors, such as the TL-G3D and TL-L100 Proximity Sensors (which have both been discontinued) can only switch up to about 2 mA, so they cannot be connected to the S3D2.

*The S3D2-AKD/-CKD/-CCD is 24 V.
